Team In Training Program for Athens-to-Atlanta

(Updated September 22, 2002)

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team In Training

Team In Training is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's endurance training and fund raising program. Participants of all athletic levels are supported in achieving the ultimate goal of inline skating the Athens to Atlanta 38 or 86 mile road skate while raising funds to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma.

As a Team In Training participant, you will be training under the leadership of a professional coach, with the guidance of an integrated training program, designed so even the novice can experience the thrill of completing his or her first endurance event.

While the coaches help you reach your personal fitness goals, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society asks you to help reach their goal: To cure leukemia and blood related cancers and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society staff and volunteers will work with you to achieve your fund raising goal through fund raising clinics and materials, one on one fund raising assistance, as well as ideas to help you meet and exceed your goal.

As a member of Team In Training, you will be training and fund raising in honor of a leukemia patient. Your honored patient will be a source of motivation and inspiration throughout your training and event. These people are the true heros. Your efforts will bring their fight against these deadly diseases one step closer to an end.

The following is a listing of the chapters that will be participating in Athens to Atlanta. Please contact the chapter to learn how you can join the team.
