: Hey, just saw your message. It is now 9 days after the race and I still
: limp. I lost just about all the skin on my left heel. Something wrong with

: most incredible thing I have ever done. 52 weeks 'til next year! I put my
: skates on last Friday for about a 2 mile roll, my foot hurt like hell,
: but, it felt great! I am still high from the race. My support van got
: stuck servicing my two compatriots (55 and 68 miles), and I didn't see him

: the finish line. It was awesome! Well, gotta roll.

I don't know how well it would work with skates, but the generic advice for this kind of condition is to just slather your feet with vaseline or some similar *safe* insoluable grease, and wear socks also saturated with the grease. This prevents the water from softening and swelling your calluses, which would then rub away leaving fragile pink skin, and blister city. Of course, cleaning out the liners afterwards would be another problem...
